Whether you choose to visit us in clinic or book a video consultation, every appointment is designed to identify the underlying cause of your hair or scalp concerns and provide you with a personalised treatment plan.
Initial Consultation (60 minutes)
Our comprehensive one-hour consultation is available at our clinics in Glasgow and Edinburgh, or remotely via secure video consultation if you are unable to attend in person.
During your consultation we take time to understand your medical history, lifestyle, medications and hair health journey before carrying out a detailed clinical assessment.
For clinic appointments, we also perform advanced digital trichoscopy, allowing us to examine your scalp and hair follicles under high magnification to assist with diagnosis.
Following your assessment, you'll receive a clear explanation of your diagnosis together with evidence-led treatment recommendations tailored specifically to your needs.
Follow-up Consultation (30 minutes)
Follow-up appointments allow us to review your progress, assess your response to treatment, make any necessary adjustments and ensure you continue moving towards the best possible outcome.
Video Consultations
Our video consultations offer the same thorough clinical approach for patients throughout the UK and internationally.
They're ideal if:
- You live outside Scotland.
- Travelling to clinic isn't convenient.
- You prefer the comfort and privacy of your own home.
- You're continuing your care through regular follow-up appointments.
Where appropriate, we can review high-quality photographs and arrange additional investigations, including blood testing or genetic hair testing, before or after your consultation.

Booking Your Consultation
Booking your appointment with Trichology Scotland is simple.
Choose the consultation type that best suits your needs, select your preferred clinic (Glasgow, Edinburgh or Online), and choose an appointment time that works for you.
Once your booking has been confirmed, you'll receive an email containing your appointment confirmation together with a secure pre-consultation questionnaire.
Please complete your pre-consultation questionnaire at least 48 hours before your appointment.
This allows your Trichologist, to review your medical history, symptoms and concerns before your consultation, ensuring your appointment time is focused on diagnosis, discussion and developing your personalised treatment plan.
Cancellation Policy
Appointments may be cancelled or rearranged up to 48 hours before your appointment without charge.
If you need to change your appointment, simply contact our team and we'll be happy to help arrange an alternative date and time.
